On the afternoon of July 16, 2025, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications hosted a landmark event that underscored Cambodia’s growing momentum in the digital sector: the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT) and the European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (EuroCham). The ceremony, held at the Ministry headquarters, was attended by senior leadership from the Ministry, CADT, and EuroCham, including Mr. Gabriele Faja, President of EuroCham Cambodia and Chairman of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (ItaCham). The MOU marks a significant step toward enhanced collaboration between Cambodia’s public sector institutions and the European business community.
At the heart of the agreement is a shared vision to promote digital best practices, foster awareness of emerging technologies, and strengthen the development of digital human capital in Cambodia. As the country accelerates its transition into a digital economy, the partnership between CADT and EuroCham is designed to respond to the growing demand for qualified professionals and digital infrastructure. In his remarks during the event, H.E. Minister Chea Vandet engaged in a thoughtful exchange with Mr. Faja on the future of telecommunications and digital innovation in Cambodia. Key initiatives discussed included the government’s Verify platform for digital document verification, the DG SuperApp, and the ambitious Digital Park initiative—cornerstones of Cambodia’s digital transformation strategy.
Mr. Faja reiterated EuroCham’s commitment to supporting these national initiatives, not only through technical expertise and strategic partnerships but also by mobilizing its member network to contribute to skills development and innovation, providing opportunities to Italian and European businesses interested to invest in Cambodia. The MOU signing was more than a ceremonial gesture—it was a statement of intent. As the Minister, CADT, ItaCham and EuroCham leadership jointly expressed, the collaboration will serve as a foundation for ongoing cooperation in training, technology transfer, and the creation of a digitally skilled workforce. This event reflects the broader mission of ItaCham Cambodia, under Mr. Faja’s leadership, to bridge European—especially Italian—expertise with Cambodia’s national priorities. Through partnerships like this, ItaCham continues to demonstrate how business chambers can play a catalytic role in sustainable development, innovation, and education.
The path forward for Cambodia’s digital future is collaborative, inclusive, and innovation-driven—and ItaCham is proud to be part of it.
