Music, Culture, Impact: ItaCham supported Carnegie in Cambodia

ItaCham was proud to support the charity concert Carnegie in Cambodia,” held on April 4, 2026, at Koh Pich Theatre in Phnom Penh—an inspiring evening dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for Cambodian children. The event brought together distinguished guests from the Royal Government of Cambodia, the diplomatic community, and both national and international audiences, showcasing the power of cultural diplomacy through music.

At the heart of the evening was an exceptional artistic lineup, featuring internationally acclaimed Italian-American pianist Julian Gargiulo, known as “Pianist With The Hair,” alongside Princess Norodom Jenna and a talented Cambodian tenor: Sethisak Khuon. Together, they delivered a memorable performance that beautifully blended international excellence with Cambodian cultural identity.

ItaCham is especially proud to highlight the strong Italian contribution to this initiative. The charity beneficiary includes IL NODO, an Italian NGO founded by Martina Cannetta and a valued member of ItaCham, which works actively to promote education and social development in Cambodia. In addition, the piano used for the performance was provided by The Piano Shop Cambodia, founded by Gabriele Faja—who is also the Chairman of ItaCham and founder of Soundskool and Bellini Bistro Italiano, the latter being a Silver Sponsor of ItaCham.

Beyond the performances, guests also experienced the exhibition “Pithi – Objects of Ceremony,” which celebrated Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage and traditions. This event exemplifies ItaCham’s commitment to fostering meaningful connections between Italy and Cambodia through culture, education, and social impact. By supporting initiatives like Carnegie in Cambodia, ItaCham and its members continue to contribute to building a brighter future for Cambodian youth, ensuring greater access to education and opportunities across the country. All proceeds from the event will support Cambodia Japan Friendship School and IL NODO, reinforcing a shared vision of inclusive and sustainable development through education.
