The opinion piece argues that still in Cambodia, there is a general unfamiliarity with Italyโs culture, history, or contributions, besides the obvious iconic fashion and culinary heritage, in addition to landmarks like the Pisa Tower or the Romaโs Colosseum. We may argue that still, there is an overall misunderstanding of Italyโs profile as a country, maybe overshadowed by its neighbour France and its long history with Cambodia.
But the technological know how and the innovation and capabilities in several fields are actually a land of opportunities for bilateral collaborations, and investments. Recognising this side of Italy, mainly in Cambodia, not only broadens the understanding of the country but also highlights the immense potential of collaborations between Italy and Cambodia in technology and innovation, opening doors to bilateral agreements, investments, and collaborative endeavours that can bring benefit to both sides and contribute to the diversification of the investments and projects of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
